Module 6:

This module has helped me think about self-directed learners and the role of differentiation in the following ways.....

Third grade teachers may need to be teaching eighth grade math to some students while teaching first grade math to others and everywhere in between.  Students that have been held back can finally soar, while at the same time, intervention can get more specific for struggling students.  Differentiation can finally become differentiated in a broader spectrum.

Module 4:

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

The possibilities are endless and everyday there are new ways to research subjects because new resources are added.  Better assessment tools are also being launched that can pinpoint in on student learning.  The technology is leading students where they can be stopped and taught more intense lessons on something they are having problems with while other students are going on and learning the next lessons.  The gifted students have been held back to help the lower students when they should be excelling.  Technology can help conquer the boundaries of grade level.

Module 3:

This module has helped me think about the impact of the internet on my students’ learning in the following ways:

This module has helped me think about the impact of the internet on my students’ learning when the students can delve deeper into the subject than I would have taught using textbook and worksheets.  The lower students can benefit because they can find more than one website for research, so they can find something they understand.  At the same time, the gifted students can take it farther and learn more than teacher-led lectures. 

Module 2

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQ’s or formative assessment in the following ways……

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQ’s or formative assessment when I tried them out on my students and saw that my students were actually analyzing and synthesizing what they had learned and not just using rote memorization for the test.  It took extra time on my part to develop a rubric and grade the papers but what the students wrote in expository non-fiction writing was amazing.  They also learned more when doing a movie.
